2006 KDX200 - What is the stock air chamber (oil level)

Used the search function and looked in the suspension forum, but I did not find my answer.

Just rebuilt and re-sprung stock forks on the 2006 KDX200 and need to know what the factory air chamber is.

I feel that starting at the stock oil level might be a wise move, then I can decide from there where I want to run the oil level. I don't want to modify the oil level and spring rate at the same time, it could be hard to tell what is effecting what if I change too many things at the same time.

I know, my bad for not measuring the oil level before I dumped them.

I don't have a service manual.
But I did get to look at an owners manual, turns out stock air chamber is 100mm.
Kawi gives a very wide range on this bike 80mm - 130mm; 50mm is a big range!

i would adjust the oil height to 90mm to add to the compression and using 15wt or even 20wt oil to slow the rebound. set the spring preload to about 6mm but not more than 10mm.

My shop manual says 87mm standard, with a usable range of 85-100mm. Dunno where your owners manual came up with those measurements at.

Here is the page from my newly acquired 2006 Factory Owners manual. I guess it is 85mm - 135mm NOT 80mm - 130mm. Either way, I would prefer to start out at 100mm, I can always add oil and reduce the air chamber if I need to make them more progressive, it is much easier to add oil a little at a time than it is to subtract oil. I also have them valved for stock weight oil courtesy of Pro Action Suspension.

My Pro Action dealer was having trouble getting the .43 springs that we wanted, but this turned out great for me!
He ending up getting a set of .45 & .41 and combined them for a rate of .43. Plus he gave me the two extra springs and I only had to pay for one set!
So I can always swap out one spring and set it at .41 or .45. Plus I still have the stock .35's, so this gives me a lot of possible combinations.
ie. .35, .38, .40, .41 .43, .45
We ended up taking the usable oil range and going smack dab in the middle at 110mm. Pre-load is set to 6mm and he gave me extra spacer material and shims, so I can even play with that too.
