Gnarley pipe install
Is it mandatory that you use the high temp silicone when installing? I ran the bike today for the first time with the Gnarly Desert pipe with turbinecore 2 with new V fore 3 reeds and the difference is huge. I really don't to take the pipe apart unless absolutely needed. The other question I have is if I have to put the silicone on, where does it go? Is it at the motor or at the muffler connection or both??? Thanks for your time.

the silicone seals the connection better but it will not stop spooge, it just won't drip on the engine and swingarm.
Some spooge is normal, no matter what you do you will have some, a lot might indicate some issue.
Just remember: do not to jet by the spooge amount you see, use the proper procedure.

Not true. I have NO spooge whatsoever. Even when I take my pipe off, it's dry carbon, no oil whatsoever.scheckaet wrote:the silicone seals the connection better but it will not stop spooge, it just won't drip on the engine and swingarm.

Probably a good thing, else the weird fugger would just figure out a way to refine all that spooge and run it back through in his premix

actually as of april 1 gas in canada by law contains 5% ethanol. there hasn't been much if any publicity about it. my dad asked shell about it, their reply was that any of their gas that contained ethanol would be obviously marked on the pump and that they had to average 5% so their regular will contain 10%, mid grade 5%, premium 0%. so nick may have different results this year. i always run shell premium anyways. ya gotta wonder if the pumps will be marked or are supposed to be marked, i can imagine there being a pile of stickers sitting beside the cash register cause junior is too busy doing his homework to put them on :) or it's too cold & they won't stick, always a possibility here in alberta!
