Revloc Dyna Ring Report
Well I finally got in a good long ride today with my new Revloc Dyna Ring Clutch. All I can say is it is simply amazing. I rode tight, techincal trails with a few steep climbs and the bike just ate it up. I didn't touch my clutch lever one time. I am very happy with this product and I highly recommend it to anyone. And its only $379!

Everyone that has ridden my KDX - myself, my son (races hare scramble on a CR250 with a Rekluse Z Start Pro), and one of my son's friends (races MX on a YZF250 with a hydraulically actuated manual clutch) - really like the Dyna Ring. It's simple to install and not as expensive as other auto clutch options and it works great.

I did some riding Sunday at a place that is all steep hills. It is rooty, rocky, full of leaves, and loose dirt. One of my friends didn't make a hill and was waiting while I tried. He said he couldn't believe my rear wheel. My RPM's were up, but he said the rear wheel was just ratcheting as I went up. I had it in 2nd gear and the clutch basically acts as a traction control. I made it up by the WAY. :)

I used to think like you too.... The beauty of the Dyna Ring is that you can use it like a conventional clutch too... just no stalling problems when you are on a hill in a bad situation.....

KDXsg wrote:No offence to all dyna ring supporters. but i still like the challenge of climbing all sort of hill and riding condition from the conventional clutch system. it really test one's clutch control skill. but overall good invention for riders looking for a little comfort.
Six months ago I would have told you that I wouldn't have an auto clutch. Now, 3 out of 4 of our bikes have an auto clutch. The only one that doesn't is a TT-R230 and no one makes one for it.
What I like about the auto clutch the best is when my right foot gets ahead of my left hand I don't stall the motor.

My kit arrived a couple of days ago. Waiting on a clutch cover gasket now. Should I be looking to replace anything else (as standard procedure) while I'm in there? Sorry for the noob question. I never went into a clutch assembly before.

I meant, in addition to inspecting parts that won't be replaced by the kit, is it advisable to go ahead & replace anything on a 10yr old clutch assembly while I'm in there. Like springs for example.

Believe it or not, I bought a Dyna-Ring for my CR250. I have never had a problem in stalling any bike. It wasnt about that. Many people on here have rode with me, and know my skills. lol. Anywho, i have a ton of money in my bike to make it lug better.... carb, 265 cylinder, gearing, pipe, RB mods..... the list goes on and on. Finally I bit the bullit. My bike will lug great now, but I go through the gears lickady-split @ 13-50. And, if it is a tad wet, forget it. So, Even after giving Jim and so many others crap about an auto-clutch...... I bought a Dyna-Ring. It's not a full blown auto-clutch, but perfect for me. Kinda like a rubber band though. Gonna have to get use to it. 1 ride in slick stuff, and I was Impressed. My bike would normally sit and spin, but not now. Put it in 2nd, and ease into it. Away I went! Hard for me to get use to, coming from an MX background, but it sure was nice to be able to go. Plus, you can jam on the brakes and stop in gear, and the bike keeps on idling. Very cool.
Yes, they really do let me drive the Train!
