Replacing Leaky Seal
No wonder I can't get the darn thing jetted correctly.
Is it possible to replace this seal with out splitting the cases?
It doesn't look like it to me but.....

I am sorry but I have to call BS on that one!kevfort19 wrote:the stator is seal by a gasket so normally it don't suck air or dust...
The stator cavity is not completely sealed off from atmosphere on most engines. Ever see a two stroke scream into the high RPM's due to a bad left side crank seal? I have.

Yep, I seen it too. It WILL suck air through that seal.Griffbones wrote:I am sorry but I have to call BS on that one!kevfort19 wrote:the stator is seal by a gasket so normally it don't suck air or dust...

Most engines have a drain hole in the cases or a spot on the bottom of the cover that allows for moisture to drain out. This does allow for air and dirt to be sucked in through a bad crank seal, this also causes main bearing failures too.
