I've got a spare 36mm. PWK off of a '97 KX125. Would this be too big for a KDX220? I'd have to imagine it would help the top end power quite a bit. Would it kill the bottom end power?
If I were to use it, I'd use the KDX slide and needle (I'm assuming they're different but at this point I haven't checked).
'97 KX125 Carb on a KDX220?

Sure it's a 36 and not a 38? The 36 uses a 38mm body...which will physically be too big for the KDX fit-wise(this is why RB bores the KDX carb to 36). It just so happens that I'm in need of a 36mm PWK for my WR. I have a 35mm KDX 200 carb I'd trade....Still has KX throttle/etc attached. I have the opposite problem with my WR...35mm doesn't fit the boots right.

It measures just a little over 36mm on the inside. The factory manual lists a '97 KX125 (what this carb came off of) as having a 35mm. and the '98 125 as having a 36mm. Maybe someone swapped a '98 carb onto the '97. It's definitely not a 38. I haven't had a chance to see if it will fit into the KDX inlet and outlet boots.

The carb size is measured at the slide area. When you look into the carb, you will see an area that has been machined where the slide intersects the bore, this is where it is measured.
For casting reasons there is a bit of taper to the bore of the carb and can measure about 1 mm larger at the mouth, but it is the smaller machined area of the bore that determines the size of the carb.

A PWK that old is probably in need of a rebuild or in the case of my KDX replacement.
