Bought a 2001 unmolested KDX220!

Post by Dale »

Bought a KDX 220 today. 2001. $1200 +'s.....less than 50 - 60 hours, all stock, 155 compession. ( My tester reads every new top end I've done at 155-160.) He Threw in some tech 6 boots/thor kawasaki pants, a loading ramp, and a nice chest protecter. Negitive side....all original! Which means stock kaw. piston :(. I have a 98 that blew it right out the bottom. Front tire has rot. Air filter had zero oil on it. However, carb boot had no dirt in it. Thank God. It still had the air cleaner cover on it! SOOOO, I took the lid off, removed the stock pipe and silencer and replaced it with a gold series Gnarly and an FMF silencer I had in the garage. Changed the oil and sprayed the air filter. oiled the chain and changed the gas. It rips!!! First on the agenda is a new top end, then chain and sprokets. This makes my bike collection two KDX 220's 98 and 01, My son has a 98 RM125, and a 99KX250/94XR200R hybrid. and my baby, a 09 KX250F. Life is good!

Life is good?

Hardly.

It WILL be when you finally get around to giving me back that '01 220. I really miss it.

I'm glad you like it and all...but it's time to return it to its rightful owner!

...where it would be after you gave it to me.

C'mon. You don't need TWO of 'em!!

carvr. You're right. It's not fair to have two KDX's. So.......I'm looking at a third to make a 06 KX250F/KDX 220 engine hybrid! Now, to be fair, once I get up to 5 KDX's I will give you one! Then Life will be good!
