KDX50
Anybody have any good ideas for upping the power on the KDX50? (yes,I know the suspension sux). I am interested in buying a used performance pipe for it as I have already milled the head .025" and installed a wiseco piston. Please advise.

Hey Inda now we need a mini bike forum!
I've never actually worked on a KDX50 but i'd imagine that the standard performance increases apply. I'd look at getting some different reeds and re-working the jetting along with a new pipe.

I wouldn't be too excited about spending $200 on a $1100 bike either. Looks like you can get them off of ebay for $150 which is still a lot for the price of the bike. I hope you find a used pipe somewhere.

I think you will get the most performance gains out of playing with the timing, plug heat range, and very high octane fuel since the head has been milled (might want to mildly port it also...... And yes... a good pipe!
Jetting will play a major role also since it will be highly modified if you do all the mods listed.
You could even shave the flywheel and have it balanced. All the basic hop-ups would apply.

Are the throttle limiter and removeable exhaust plate long gone?
By the way, is this ridden by a child or you?
Thanks.

It might be more cost effective to upgrade to a 65 or 80 cc bike if he can handle the larger sized bike vs adding more odds and ends to the KDX50. If you can find the pipe for cheap though that would be the thing to try.

Yes, it sounds like he may have outgrown it. Maybe putting any modification money toward a KX60 / KX65 / KLX110 would be best. It wouldn't be the cheapest, but it may be better. That is, until he needs a KX80 / KX85, etc.
