Black Side Panels
Does anyone sell black side panels for a late model KDX?
How about black lower fork guards for '03 KX125 forks?
I seem to be striking out on both.

Yes. Go to Rocky Mountain website, they have number plates for KDX's. All colors, whatever number you want, etc. All for like $39 plus shipping.
I am pretty sure UFO plastics should make fork guards in black color for KX's '03. If not, try lightspeed as they make the carbon fiber ones for a wide range of bikes. I have these on my '01 KX 250.

Couldn't find it. I was wondering about a white headlight shield but haven't found that either.dejovi22 wrote:Yes. Go to Rocky Mountain website, they have number plates for KDX's. All colors, whatever number you want, etc. All for like $39 plus shipping.

The ones attached to the tank are called radiator shrouds.alistair wrote:do you mean side panels as in the panels that go over the tank/radiator?

Krylon Fusion makes the side plates.
They come two to a package, one each right/left.
Part number: B-la.cK.
They make fork guards for the '023 125, too.
Different part number:
b-LAC.k.
Packaging is kind'a deceiving...about 3" in circumference and 9" or so tall.
It's all in there, though!!
Hope this helps!

Fusion is good stuff. It does stick to plastics (like it says it does) and is hardy, too. It won't stand up to BraKleen or lacquer thinner..but it's pretty tough.
In the Nav..we'd send guys looking for 10' of shoreline..maybe some skyhooks, too!
You won't need to be looking for Fallopian tubes on your bike if you use Fusion...it will have already been sprayed.

How well does the Krylon Fusion stuff work? If you paint something with it, does it get absorbed at all so that if it the parts gets scratched it will still be the same color that you painted it with?
I have had pretty good luck but not perfect results in using RIT dye from the store to change the guards/guides on my KX frontend from natural white to black. Boil the part on the stove in a pot of water with the dye in it. Found this way on a R/C truck site.

I've heard it's complete crap that doesn't stick to anything worth a damn. Besides that, even if you paint BOTH SIDES of something, it will penetrate not at all to even close to 1/2 the thickness of the material!! FROM NEITHER SIDE!!
Cheers!

I've used RIT dye too. Even on the green parts. It tends to fade after a while though. But for another 2 bits, and a pot of hot water, it's black again. It's not a shiny black though. More of a flat black. Maybe because I used some pretty trashed plastics to begin with. I don't know.

OK, so who has actually used Krylon Fusion, and did it work reasonably well? ("Reasonably well" defined here to mean minor scratches from boots didn't cause the white undercolor to show through.) Where do you find it? Our local home improvement superstore doesn't carry it.
Regular black spray paint sucks...no surprise there. If the Fusion isn't an option, I guess I'll try the Rocky Mountain decal kit. That would look better, of course, but the paint would let me color the fork guards too.
