V-Force Delta 2 - versus - V-Force 3
I know someone selling a Delta 2 and was wondering about it. What is the difference performance wise between the 2 and the 3? What is that thing in the middle of the 2? Will replacement reed petals be available in the future or do they use the same pedals as the 3? Thanks.

The D3 are supposed to be the best. Any reed other than stock will be an improvment . Check mototasrini for availability on the DF2, I believe they are still making them, so getting petals (and not pedals ) should not be an issue.

There is a difference. It's considerable. Not earthshaking..but noticeable.jc7622 wrote:I know someone selling a Delta 2 and was wondering about it. What is 'the thing'? What 'thing'? The DF2/3 is an 4-petal setup..two pair, each pair on its own cage. Looking at a pic of the II, I think you're referring to the reed stop for the inside reeds. The DF3 doesn't have that.
Google 'Delta Force Reed Valve' for some decent pics of both styles.
The two do not use the same petals.
Yep...ask MT about their plans for making DF2 reeds.
There are two different reed tensions available for the KDX DFII..that along with two different reed tension STOPS..each of them having a hi/lo installation option.
The DF3 doesn't have those options.
If I had it to do over...and had the choice of the two, I'd sure choose the DF3 the first time.
...the DF3 wasn't made then....

If it is a good buy go for it
I'm still running VForce Delta 2 as seen here.
I was running Power Reeds before and the Delta 2 is much better. Made it like a totally differnt machine. But it was a major PIA to get it to fit on my bike, I had to sand down the sides of the cage some to make it fit. Before that I could make if I pushed hard enough I could get it into place but it bound up somewhere and caused it to have a terrible air leak.
Here's the VForce Delta 3

Also, the DF will fit in right side up and upside down. There is a CORRECT way, but you need to pay particular attention to the way your stock one comes out. I wouldn't have thought it would make a difference, but it does. There are no markings to indicate up or down on the DF reed cage either.

I don't think the VFDII will fit upside down, if my hazy memory serves me right seems like the name plate gets in the way

You know, thing. 'Thing' is an accepted technical term around here, kinda like dillywhopper. This is not to be confused with whopperjawed which means to be bent out of shape or crooked. Catty-whompus means the same thing.
Do you know what a 'scosh' is? It's a unit of measure.
When something is 'eat up' that means it is corroded, worn, etc.
'Ruint' means that is no longer useable or is beyond the service life.
If someone says that your bike runs like a 'scalded dog', it means it runs fast and should be taken as a compliment.

I think it ruints his whole day!!
That you can google 'Delta Force Reed Valve' and get pages of pictures of the thing is completely beside the point!

Thank you for the google lesson, Mr. Obvious...er...Mr. Wibbens.
I was going to make note of that fact myself...but I thought, 'Why bother stating the plainly evident, let alone that which matters not a whit?'
Now...what I REALLY wanna know is WHAT happens when you google 'force reed delta valve'?
How 'bout this: Delta V-Force Reed Valves
...from HERE!
