Stiffer seat foam
I want stiffer seat foam for my bike like the newer mx bikes (maybe even a little bit softer that that) All I've found is Ceet and they say they make oem foam. Does anyone have the Ceet or another thats more like the mx seats? Thanks

The guts racing tall foam is not more than maybe an 1/2 3/4 taller in the apex
the hard/firm foam does not give or sag as much as the oem and is still softer than a KTM seat.

watch out on that tall hard from guts.. its almost 2x4 stiff. I could get about 1/2 inch of my thumb into it and stopped! You really have to be sure on a kdx if you want the hard. they say the soft is like stock and the medium is more firm like a race bike. if you call them they are really helpfull and they will do returns too! they sell special covers for the tall foam

I have the tall hard Ceet foam on my 02 220. it takes a bit getting use to at first. Now I like it, helps me to move around quickly on the seat. Sitting on stock foam feels awkward to me now. stock foam feel like it sucks me in too much. When my, stock foam, KDX buddies sit on my 02 they kind of freak on the stiffness. I recently purchased some for my 05 but have not gotten around to installing it yet.

I second that Fuzzy. Cushy foam has more contact area with your arse. less circulation=heat retention=EXTREME MONKEY-BUTT SYNDROME.

Tall Ceet foam will lose the saddle.
I got one'a them..had some foam carved out where the saddle should be.
It's much more stiff than the OEM foam was...and not as stiff as a KTM.
Re: 'Break out the Medicated Body Powder'
Where 'ya been? Any powder is old technology. It's Anti-Chafing Gel that 'ya need. It's made by Monostat, found in the feminine hygiene section.
It works, too!!

That opinion is a true fact.fuzzy wrote:Super-cushy foam also increases monkey-butt, IMO.

Nice added touch Inda. Where do you come up with this stuff??
Carver, what did you use to carve the saddle in your ceet foam. I thought about it but didnt want to mess up the high dolla foam. What do you charge for a house call ceet carve?

Fat chance.
I didn't want to screw it up, either...so I asked the shop owner to just fix it for me.
His carving isn't too smooth..so I doubt I'd'a done worse.
So...I don't have personal experience in the matter...but several tools seem to work say those that done it: A rasp..a belt sander are two that come to mind I've heard work OK.
Mine was cut by what looks to be a knife. I can see the scallops in it. I'm due for a new cover (by gripper seat ain't got no moh grip), so I figured I'd maybe smooth it out some 'next time'.
Oh...consider what Wibby did to his..he put an extra layer or two of foam at the back end. He said it keeps him from sliding off.

I've heard you can use an electric filet knife
I tried but it did not work to great
Anyone that puts on a new cover should try a stepped seat
I see Guts even sells a kit but it's just as easy to make one yourself
And they work really slick!, Can't tell you how many times it has helped me stay on the seat
