I want to fine tune my kdx200 for my dual sporting riding
I've got my 95 kdx 200 dual sport ready and do a lot of trail connecting and riding the back roads. I just ordered a new 14 tooth cs sprocket. I'm running stock 13/47 right now. I don't like how it rides above 50 right now for a longer run on the street. the vibration gets to you after a while. I hope the 14 tooth helps give me a little more speed/less rpm. I don't want to give up a lot of low end though. I almost bought a 15 tooth but I wanted to try the 14 1st. I also bought a new 110 link x-ring chain so we'll see how that install goes soon. I want to tighten the rebound on my front forks as well. Is that simple. I have my manual but I haven't gotten into tuning the shocks they worked good when I was strickly dirt. Maybe a little plush. Right now tho, under braking and such they need tightened up. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. One more thing. The bike came with that pro circuit pipe. I want a new silencer. Should I stick with pro circuit and what about it being a spark arrestor.

The rebound is not adjustable on the stock forks - only compression.
Except for doing something with the oil level/ oil weight. That controls the rebound.
For silencers, pick what you want - FMF or PC, but get somethging with an S/A. I ran the FMF 'Q' on my KDX and it was very very quiet. The TCII is also spark arrested.

On the street with 14-47 I could cruise 55-60 I even liked it in the woods but mine is a 220 very different my brother had a 04 200 I don't think it would have been as happy. You have to remove bead locks to get out most of your vibration at 55mph with stock forks and 1 bead lock in front my bike would bounce hard enough to see daylight under the front wheel The way I got mine to stop vibrating on the road was in the bed of a f-250 very nice this way. My nuts go numb at the thought of 4-5 miles of pavement

No its not bumpy due to the bead locks. Its hardly bumpy. Just vibration. Now that I can dual sport it I'll only trailer it for long rides. I hated loading it up all the time to go to the trails. I can't see that adding 1 tooth to the cs sprocket change the gearing that much. It has way too much torque as it is. 1st is almost pointless. Hopefully this helps.
