Putting on gear in a certain order?
OK, just curious how many of you are as up-tite about putting gear on as I am. For the record, I'm pretty much a practical guy in every other sense, also an agnostic, can't buy into superstition at all....yet I ALWAYS put each knee protector on the exact same leg, starting with left first, and ALWAYS put my left boot on first. If I don't, I just know I'm gonna have a tough ride....been doing this for decades.
Anyone else ?
Anyone else ?

If I don't put the same knee protector on each knee the same way every time...I can't ride!
.
.
But then...I can't walk, stand up or sit down either. I mean..they only fit one way!
Come to think of it, I DO generally put my left boot on first.
Maybe what they say really is true.

Maybe I really AM weird!!

did you play hockey by chance?
I can't even put my work shoes on out of order. Gotta be left first or I know something bad is about to happen.
My daughter is a figure skater and swears the skate order doesn't matter, (but I notice it's always right first) but she has to wear her "lucky" dress for the compulsories, and absolutely has to change for free dance or else she's doomed.
My hockey son had to lace his skates a certain way, and hit his stick a particular way on the ice before a face-off or else the world would end.
but we're completely against superstition...

I put on whichever one I find first, never seems to matter, my life sucks most of the time!

See? You need to put your gear on in a consistent order! I know it's hard to change your ways, but start small, just boots, for example. See if your day doesn't go smoother... try holding beer with your left hand only and see if the bike doesn't hook up better.Mr. Wibbens wrote:I put on whichever one I find first, never seems to matter, my life sucks most of the time!
Personally, I think it has to do with creating a self-protective bias against destructive chance by disturbing the random flux of quantum mechanics, which, of course, has nothing to do with superstition.
canyncarvr, you're not weird, just instinctively insightful.

I do find putting on underware prior to pants and socks prior to boots and pants prior to boots and jersey prior to chest protector and helmet prior to googles but after jersey seem to work for me. Doesn't really matter to me otherwise.
