Consider the source! From some sources you can just trust what's said. From some others...you wonder what body cavity they maybe pulled THAT (profferred guess) out of!

That is a correct belief.
If your basket fingers are dented, as long as you're in there, check the friction tabs to see if THEY are likewise dented. If so...turn them around to put a 'new' tab to a new(ly) filed basket.
My fairly new OEM plates were below spec'd thickness. The brandy new OEM plates I bought to replace my obviously worn out plates were just as 'thin'.
Did'ja have a shim 'tween the activating rod and the bearing?
Watch the large (diameter) spring and seat that sits outside of the clutch pack. The two pieces go back in in a particular fashion.
