Aftermarket kickstand?
Anyone buy a decent aftermarket kickstand lately? My stock one has seen better days and needs to be replaced. Any aftermarket ones fit and work okay? Stock location or other mounting?

I was thinking about getting the ebay kickstand, but the way it mounts is just sufficient to hold up the bike. They flat say that you can't use it to stand and kick start the bike, or you could break the frame tab where the chain roller is located. If so, it seems to me that if the extended stand got stuck in soft soil as they sometimes do, like if you flop on a steep hill, it could break the frame tab that way too.

I got an ebay stand on my bike. If you look at my post about a week ago called "Finally got my bikes finished" you will see pictures of the stand.
Here are my quick thoughts: first the price is good, second I needed to machine a spacer to make it work because I got sent the KX parts for the bottom chain roller bolt. Third, it was necessary to cut my frame guards to make it fit.
Finally, the stand works pretty good. Pretty stable but . . as advertised its a bike stand, not a kick stand. If you use it like a kick stand than you will bend your frame and bottom chain roller area.
But overall it looks a heck of a lot better than the stock swingarm mount - what was Kawi thinking? - and afterall, its all about the "looks."
Its not that expensive so I would recommend trying one with the above knowledge.

I don't go to that site but it seems that I should so I know why it's such a stuffed shirt. Is Wib's banned too? CC and Skipro wouldn't last a day if they don't like fun.

I bought one of Ken and Ed's kickstands off ebay and really like it. I can understand Gumby's concerrn of the chain roller tab snapping off in a impact situation, but they designed the bracket with a relief cut right next to the roller mount so that the bracket would bend before any stress was put on the roller mount
