How many of you race your KDX?
I've been thinking of entering a hare scramble race for years, and that got me to wondering how many of you are regular racers.

I raced my first "rough scramble" a couple weeks ago, what a blast. I signed up for the 125-230cc trail bike class, mostly teen aged kids in that class but you gotta start somewhere. It was my first race so I did not want to go out with the experienced racers to keep everyone safe. Don't sweat it, everyone goes to have fun, even got a 2nd place in the B class. My kid thought I was the coolest. The KDX is definetly a powerhouse compared to the TTR"s and the XR 230.

I haven't raced my KDX and I haven't raced at all for like over 20 years. I believe my son and I are gonna take a shot at competing in a few races of the Kentucky Hare Scrambles series this year. I'll compete in the Senior "C" . . .
hear ye, hear ye, this will mark the FIRST senior anything I've participated in

I've only had the kdx for a few months, but would love to do a scramble one day for fun. I use to race motox years ago, and just loved the competition aspect of it, but i also love taking in the scenery, so i don't know how well that would work.
Yes, they really do let me drive the Train!

I said "race your KDX" because this is a KDX forum...
I just don't want to look back someday and say "Boy, I wish I would have tried a race once."
I was really interested in learning how many people on this forum race, and whether or not I was in the minority for not racing.

Just get out and do it. Racing makes you a much better rider, trust me. It shows you your weaknesses really easily.
I bought my KDX last october and started riding that month. My first race was in December. Definatly the toughest thing I have ever done. It was my first time riding in the desert and it took a toll on my. I then raced in January again and came about midpack C. I have to race 250/450 because my 220 is too big for the 200 class, so I have the smallest bike possible in my class. And in those desert races thats not what you want.
I love racing though, even though I've only been riding a few months I have a blast do it and go for whenever I can. There is a race tomorrow but I cant attend it, I've got a funeral to attend...

I think I have finished in the 170's the last two years, last year I was 9th in 200cc. Not too horrible considering there are 600 starters and 300-400 finishers. A bigger bike would help make up some time on the flats and climbs, I can't complain though.crazyaboutriding wrote:ya i plan on it. i have done the ironman twice now, and plan on doing a lap in the race for the first time (15 and under). how have you done in the past?
