It is confusing.
For FMF pipes and for your 04 200, the way to which they are most often referred . . . yes . . .
FMF makes a KG-35, aka "woods" pipe, often referred to as a "torque" pipe. FMF also makes a KG-30, aka "desert" pipe, often referred to as a "rev" pipe.
I won't get into why it is confusing, so if my description tells you what you need to know, everything should be cool . . .
does that do it for ya?
There is at least one other manufacturer - Pro Circuit - but I'll let someone else chime in for that one.

Pro circuit's pipe are:
Pro circuit platinum 2: Comparable to the fmf woods or torque pipe. Heavy-duty, power gains mostly down low.
Pro circuit platinum: Similar to the FmF Rev or Desert pipe, lighter steel, power gains more present up top.

I think you have the two of them reversed.2001kdx wrote:Pro circuit's pipe are:

Yep. He be backwards...more than frontwards anyway.
From the description of the PC Platinum, it sounds VERY much like an FmF Fatty (better everywhere), more than a woods/torque (better down low).
FmF hasn't made things easier over the years. They have listed their own pipes backwards for the two displacement KDXs (one pipe a 'rev' for the 200, the same pipe a 'torque' for the 220). They have mislabled (stamped incorrectly) some of their pipes..and there is the age old gripe about FmF , 'This pipe can't be correct because it DON'T FIT!!' because their quality control stinks.
I've seen PC pipes on KDXs...but I have NEVER seen an application guide (even from ProCircuit) that lists the Platinum or PlatII for the KDX.
Oh...regarding FmF pipes..there is the further confusion from gnarly, too!! Many times riders have described their bike as being equipped with a 'gnarly' pipe. Ha...or a BURLY pipe. Neither of those descriptive words means a thing as far as what RPM band the pipe is designed for.
