Hi.
Just thought i'd say hello as just registered and got myself a KDX220 for messing about with in the UK recently.
It's a 2002 one owner machine but been enduro'd and green laned but mechanically looks fine. Previously had KDX125 and a 250 import off road toys. It's got a gnarly pipe and other minor mods.
In process of getting the lights to work in order to get it thru the UK MOT test (to ride on the road) which has been a pain as previous owner appears not to have good electrical skills!!
I ride an R6 road bike to work daily but decided I needed 2 stroke for the weekends!
Just wondering if there are any / many UK contributors to the site?
Cheers for now.

I research user before activating their accounts to stop spammers and I came across your recent acquisition on eBay so I knew you were good!
There are a few UKer's here but are mostly lurkers. So I challenge you to bring them out of their shell....
Welcome to the site and I'm sure we can help you with any KDX issues you may have....

welcome!
I used to have a 125 too when I was on the other side of the big pond It was my only mode of transportation, I loved it but she did not like going WOT on the highway (top speed was about 80 mph)... fried 3 engines in 3 years and I was runnning everything stock
If I had known what I know now because of this website, probably could have been avoided.
You'll see this site is a gold mine.
Again welcome

Cheers for the notes.
Thats a bit keen to spot my purchase on e-Bay - hope you haven't found my webcam too!!
I have a sad old image of the 125 and 250 but not sure how to attach.
I have the orginal 'A' piston here from the 125 as a paper weight - looks nice with the way that one ring is welded into it and melted down one side. Priase the Lord for premix and not having to rely on the oil feed to work properly! It siezed solid at approx 60MPH - happy days.
As I'm new back to a proper stroker i.e. plastic tank (!) and premix fuel, can you tell me if its normal for them to drip what looks like the odd drip of engine oil from one of the overflow pipes when running briefly in garage trying to get the darn lights to work??
I think I may have plenty o questions as I progress!!
Thanks again

The drip means your float is not set correctly. Also check the float needle..... it may need replaced.
Look up top and to the right... If you don't have a manual... the Online Manual is invaluable!

Thanks.
I have a mate who has had a few 220s for enduro and so I may give him a visit to give it a check over.
I have a load of paper info which came with the docs for the bike including a hop up guide which I haven't had a chance to read thru yet but the URLS include -
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/hopup.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/projectbike/cdkdx.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/bakimseytopend.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/kips.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/floatlevel.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/carbtuning.html
http://justkdx.dirtrider.net/jetneedles.html
and several others of similar on dirtrider.net.
Can't comment if they are of value yet as not my priority. I still haven't ridden it other than in a small circle on my drive. An auto electric 'expert' is visitin Monday to look at sorting lights and to poss add some capacitors to control surge and bulb blowing.
