90mph kdx?
A guy on ebay has a fredette engine 220 he's selling, and he claims it goes 90mph. He confirmed after i asked him. I know jeff is great, but can he work magic?

Can you say FULL OF S*%T2001 kdx 200 good bike wrote:he claims 13/47 gearing
Maybe 90mph going down a 50 degree hill with the wind blowing. I have had mine to about 68mph with stock gearing on a flat road.. 90???
I doubt it

There was a link posted awhile back..some moron with 'the worlds fastest bike' and it was a KDX.
'Heres a video of my brother going over 100mph..'...as the goober creeped by doing about 25mph.
Funny on the face of it..quite ridiculous.
But...why on earth would anyone consider buying a dirtbike from ANYone that thought a selling point was how fast it could go?
Well, this involves an ENGINE..not a bike..but the point is the same. Actually it's WORSE!!
I can understand someone saying, 'Fredette ported, Wiseco piston, 140psi compression, new clutch, KIPS clean and in excellent condition...' stuff like that.
But...'This ENGINE goes 100mph!'?
That is a pretty good sign that the person selling it is a complete idiot.
Ha! Here's the BIG winner:
Uh...he's selling the whole bike, not the engine.
90mph (besides not meaning a dam thing) isn't that big a deal. I run mid 80s in the mph department with 12/47. Well..that's what the GPS said...I don't have no 100mph speedo. Don't wear one, either.
BTW...that speedo looks an awful lot like what Yamaha used for a long time. The fact that it SAYS 90mph means what exactly? MOST likely it means the gearing of the speedo is completely off and it's never been checked with either a radar gun, a gps OR even a simple WATCH for crin out loud.
You can't be serious!? Point out the auction as something to laugh at..but to seriously question? Sorry. Wrong answer.

That clinches it. He's a fool on a fools errand. The moron wrote:I replaced the stock reed valve with a BOYESEN RAD VALVE.

nice guillotine hidden behind the front number plate. Of course, I've never smashed my face into that area when crossing dry washes whose banks looked more gradual than they really were...

maybe he meant KPH??
E*bay used to be ok with most people representing their goods for sale truthfully. Now it seems that every other auction or buy it now is a real piece of work. By that I mean an outright misrepresented fraudulent item in which the description in no way is anywhere truthful of the item pictured.
In other words :
CAveat Emptor!!
