best price of a 05 KDX
I got a price on a 05 KDX left over of $3676 + tax no prep.
Is this a good price? or would I by a 06 at $4000 + tax.
Is there any dealer holdback or incentives on a 05?

I paid right around $4K out the door for my '04. That was stupid though. I've seen a few used ones for half that , and they had a ton of aftermarket parts that cost over $500 to put on. If I had it to do over again, I would have tried to be more patient and find a nice used one. The new bike fever is hard to fight, but I even had a bike to ride when I got my new one.

^ This is ultimately why Kawi will stop making the KDX, but I'd do the same thing no questions asked! The worst 'just missed out' KDX story I have was a '98 w/ '98 KX forks, fatbar TT/scotts mount, RB'd, all the bells and whistles sold on ebay for $1500 right before my eyes. I was short on cash, and it absolutely killed me. He was a DRN'er, and had just bought a KTM.
Someone has to buy the new one's though!

I'm in the same boat as Fuzzy on that one. Almost bought a 99 220 tricked out with all the RB stuff, etc...and CA dual sported. $1200. But just not enough cash to close the deal.

I like new ones too. I always get screwed on used because I don't know what to look for and how it should be. Use the Kawi financing 6 months 0,0,0 option. But pay it off at 5.5 months or you get socked with 24% interest. Be sure to drain and flush the carb and tank (2 year old gas). Get the dealer to give you some jets and plugs for break-in. Get a can of disk brake cleaner and a 3M scouring pad and scrub the disks before you ride it. Get 2 good torque wrenches (ft. and in. lbs.) and check every bolt, especially those that the dealer does on assembly - forks, bars, axles. On my new 05, one side from the bar clamps down to the axle pinch bolts were just hand-tight.
