Pro Circuit 296 clearance

Pro Circuit 296 clearance
Help! I'm installing a PC Platinum 2 pipe and a PC 296 SA on my 2002 KDX 200. The pipe matches up fine but the spark arrestor is crazy long and hits the rear fender (stock) so badly that it won't bolt up. I've heard of others using spacers for clearance, but then it will ride well outside the fender. Have any others had this problem? Should I just shave out the rear fender?

I don't have one, but I've always heard that PC stuff fits better than FMF. Maybe you got the wrong silencer? Is there a number stamped in it ? I'd call PC and get them to confirm that it's the right one and/or send you a new one.
As much as this stuff costs, it should bolt right up.

Just a thought, is your Sub-Frame twisted a bit from a crash, thus causing the pipe to hit the plastic??

I called PC and they say I’ve got the right part and that it should not hit the fender. They didn’t know what to say other than maybe the subframe is probably bent. I think that’s the case after all. So I could:
1. grind the fender
2. return this 296 for something shorter
3. put the stocker back on
Based on the input I’ve seen here, I might just stick with option 1...

Can you use Rubber Bushings/Washers and a Longer Bolt to give more clearance from the fender??
