KDX220R with Lectron
I just added the Lectron carb on my KdX220. It pulls nicely from the bottom all the way to 8-9k and then falls flat on its face. Is this normal for the 220 or do I need to do some
Adjustments?

I’m pretty sure 220’s don’t rev that high. I got the RB carb and head mod on my 220 and it goes flat on top as well, shift baby shift!

Just out of curiosity, how many RPM's were you thinking it should have revved to?

Did you tune the screw on it that relates to top end power? I would definitely turn it 1/2 turn both ways to see what happens. RB mod is nice and I don't regret it at all on my 220 but don't expect it to start ripping like a different bike. Its one of those "every little bit helps" kind of mods. It's better to short shift. I would describe my 220 as fun, not fast. On the trail I love it and its more than I can use. On the street or a wide open field it feels relatively slow, compared to a 250 2 stroke. Mine has the woods pipe.

Retard the timing and you can get another few hundred RPM out of it before it falls flat.

Like Nick said ...... I did mine & it certainly helps the 220 up top without sacrificing any bottom end !Slick_Nick wrote:Retard the timing and you can get another few hundred RPM out of it before it falls flat.

I'm fighting a lectron on my new to me KDX200 as well.
Up to 1/2 throttle pulls fine. Past 1/2 throttle flat like a pancake. All noise no power.

if you want top end, retard timing

Re: KDX220R with Lectron
Mine is on the truck for delivery today. Hoping to get it on the dual sport today or tomorrow, will let you know if I have similar issues or not.
Don't have it installed yet, but did they send you an e-mail with the quick start guide in it? It looks like the "Power Jet" (Silver screw with a spring in the inlet bore) tunes the top end. Maybe you need to adjust that? It says turning it left opens it and richens the circuit, turning right closes it and leans it out.
