Where to buy #150 Main Jet?
Hello, just looking into tinkering with the jetting on my 04 200 and was wondering where I can buy a #150 main jet? I normally buy most OEM parts from Babbits but looks like they do not offer anything below a 155. This will be my first foray into jetting and from everything I have read, a 150 is a good place to start. Thanks in advance.

From 160 down to 150??
jetsrus or sudco, but if you want a Kawasaki label on a Keihin part, you can get a 150 main jet from a 1990 or 1991?? - 1994 KDX200. I don't know if you are buying over the counter or what.

Just looking for the source and wasn't quite sure to look as all the Kawasaki OEM sources seem to only offer 155 and above. I already ordered a 155 through Babbits. Just trying to figure it out based on the information that is currently posted here on this forum and also on TT. From there I think it will be trial and error.

I like Jets R Us. Have you done a plug chop with your current jet? These plug chops I did weren't on a KDX but happen to be the same size jets you're talking about and show the difference between the 3. All were done on a brand new plug with two 1st-4th gear wide open runs.
1st pic: 160 main, 7,920 max rpm
2nd pic: 155 main, 8,590 max rpm
3rd pic: 150 main, 9,370 max rpm
I ended up with a 148 which revved the highest (I let off when it reached 9500) and had a light chocolate brown mixture ring. The difference in power at mid rpms at wide open throttle with the 150 vs 160 was very noticable. Even though the 160 is clearly too rich it still revved pretty clean but wouldn't go past 7,920 no matter how long I held it. Good luck with your testing. By the time you're done you'll know by the sound of the exhaust when its close to spot on when the weather or altitude changes.

Yep, jetsrus, sudco or through Kawasaki. Some other places have non-Keihin parts. It is hard to know sometimes, but those two places have real Keihin.
Man! Nice plug comparison!

Where to buy #150 Main Jet?
This is very helpful! I have not done a plug chop yet, but it was part of my required reading over the last few days. Saturday will be the first time I am able to ride the bike so I just wanted to be prepared to tinker with it next week after the performance/results of the weekend. The goal is to some day be able to just know what I need to do by the sound and feel of the bike.John_S wrote:I like Jets R Us. Have you done a plug chop with your current jet? Do you suggest the Keihin parts vs. the "OEM" parts on jetsrus?Jason wrote:Yep, jetsrus, sudco or through Kawasaki. Some other places have non-Keihin parts. It is hard to know sometimes, but those two places have real Keihin.

Re: Where to buy #150 Main Jet?
jetsrus, sudco and Kawasaki are all made by Keihin.
https://www.keihin-na.com/aftermarket/pwk/
Some others are not. I wouldn't touch a non-Keihin part.
When Kawasaki sells a Keihin part, it is just like them selling a DID chain part, a KYB made shock / fork part, Dunlop made tire / tube, rim lock, etc. Kawasaki did not make it, but had it made by someone else.
What you get from those three are all made by the same company that made the carb to start with.

I would go with the genuine Keihin. The others they have on Jets R Us are listed as OEM equivalent.

Is the 150 the only thing you're going to order from them? With the shipping that would be about a $15 purchase. I just checked and have an extra genuine 150 that came with the JD jetting kit. If you want to send me a PM with your address I'll stick it in an envelope and send it to you tomorrow. I don't need two of them.

Re: Where to buy #150 Main Jet?
I was going to order some pilot jets as well along with a 152 main so I got to pay the shipping charges regardless. I appreciate the help though (and may have future questions to come)! Great to see there are genuine good people still out there. Thats why this forum is so helpful.John_S wrote:Is the 150 the only thing you're going to order from them? If you order from Sudco or jetsrus, DO NOT fail to get a new jet block gasket.
