Are my power valves in right? (Pics)
Bike is a 93 kdx200. This kips system is different then the one in the manual and I couldn’t see a mark on one of the sub valves.

The center and right valve looks good but the left valve seems a little off, not sure. You are right though, the '93 and '94 had a different KIPS center valve that does not follow the manuals directions to remove and set up. Even the supplemental does not inform you about this change, like it never happened.
When I changed my KIPS valves I removed the jug, put it on my workbench and put it together in a mock-up and then just played with it to see how it worked, open and closed. It was pretty interesting to me how it worked and watching it in action removed from the rest of the engine. It took some playing and some reverse engineering to really be able to set it up right.
I made a post a few years ago with some photos but photobucket no longer shares the photos. In this post, I had bought a 1990 KDX200 and a 1993 KDX200 and found out about the center valve change while replacing both top ends. When I put the 1990 back together, I did it with an updated 1993 center valve since that was the only thing that changed in the KIPS system. http://www.kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopi ... 15&t=15320

Re: Are my power valves in right? (Pics)
Which left do you mean? Left in the picture is actually right when Intake is facing towards you. The one without the idler gear is the one I couldn’t see a mark on. But I thought it is suppose to be fully closed at low rpm and open at high rpm to let exhaust into that side chamber. And it looks like I got it lined up that way. If it was off a tooth or two how bad would performance suffer?

If it opens and closes the ports correctly I'm sure it will be fine, it just looks like the valve to the left does not mirror the valve to the right in the photo.

Nope, they look like all three are out of time. Here is an OEM ‘90 left (corrected)side exhaust valve. Notice the casting line in relation to the exhaust cutout, and the alignment mark one tooth to the right of that line.

Ok I read in the manual that all valves have to closed or opens at same time. I think I got it now. Does it look right ?

EDITED: They don’t look open enough. Compare my pic with your left side valve to make an alignment dot on yours. My old right side is worn down too far to see a mark, but if you get the left one timed correctly, you can adjust the right one to mirror it. Your center valve looks good in the ‘open’ pic.

Sub-valves look backwards (ie; left is right and right is left) BTW, some seem to have forgotten that some of the '89-'94 factory manuals have the installation wrong and you end up with what you have in your last pics. Swap the sub-valves and you should be good.

Holy crap you’re right. I also mixed up my old valves. The one I posted a pic of is the left side valve. I was also wrong about the mark being worn away on my right side OEM valve. This one is two teeth over from the casting line. All previous posts have been corrected.

When referring to left or right, I think it is generally accepted practice that "as one sits on the motorcycle" left and right. In this instance, pretend the cylinder was mounted on the motorcycle, then call left or right from that perspective.
