Re: 1990 kdx 200 "I have another question."
Been a few months. The bike is coming along very slowly. I ruined my front master cylinder. I broke the tip of an extractor off in the screw. Everything else has gone fairly smooth. I kinda took the tusk train to kdx town. Bars, Levers, clutch perch. I haven't posted much but I have used the forum for information on many occasions. So thank you to those who have documented their work. So here are my new questions. #1 Is their an acceptable after market master cylinder, or should I buy a used one and a rebuild kit? #2 Does anyone know the specs on the front brake caliper bolts? Or, does anyone know of a rebuild kit that comes with new front caliper bolts? I will post pictures soon. I'll open a photo bucket and get it together soon.

Welcome back.
I would look for a use one. It might not need rebuilding. It may work well enough.
socket bolt, 8 mm x 20 mm (would be 8 x 1.25 mm threads in my guesstimation)

Re: 1990 kdx 200 "I have another question."
Thank you jason. I found bolts this morning at the local hardware . just as you said 8 x 20. They were also in my kawasaki spec bolt. In my defense my kawasaki spec bolt has turned into kawasaki all the bolts. Hardware stores have labels, I kinda fake it till ya make it. The grind goes on. I find myself buying a lot of tools with this bike as well. Im excited to ride it. Once I finish the front brake and seat. Its test ride time. It doesnt look a whole lot different. Ill get pictures up asap.
My new question is about handlebars. I bought the standard tusk handlebars and feel they are a bit wide. Is their any disadvantage to shortening them by about an inch a side? I grew up riding bmx and used to cut my bars down to like hand grips size. I plan to ride it first regardless.

Read up on cutting down handlebars. Unless you are really riding super tight gaps between trees, I would not shorten then too much.

Your hands will tell you how wide you need them. You just have to pay attention to them. If you are getting blisters on your first thumb knuckle, that means the bars are too wide and your body is more comfortable with a narrower grip. I cut my bars about 1/2" on each side.

Any suggestions on front head lights? I wont be rewinding the stator till winter. So I need something the bike can power from stock. Im also not in love with the stock head light. Do any of you find yourself actually needing a head light? Is their anything else I could do with the wiring? I kinda keep thinking about putting an oscillating l e d light on the front end. Think the KDX version of kitt from knight rider.

I picked up a cheap Chinese rectifier for like $10 on eBay, wired it in and installed a 25w LED light bar above a number plate and led tail light. Looks pretty slick.

UFO so far im really happy with them. I bought the recomended chain from rocky mountain. Im fairly sure its too short. Its a 110 looks like I will need a few more links. I shoulda known to just buy big and cut to size.

Thanks. I think there are several here that are helpful. No problems there.
I am glad you have it going. What happened with the chain? Stock sprocket sizes?

I switched to a 12 front and a 47 rear. Seems to lug around pretty well. I didnt really put it through the paces. Ran well. Little bit of a stumble. "I would feel a bit robbed if I didnt have to mess with the carb a little bit. I am pretty excited.

LOL! If you had no carb troubles, you would not be normal.
So the 110 did work?
