Wide foot pegs

Post by 6 Riders »

I just found another source for wide pegs. Cheaper than IMS foot pegs too.
Here's an EBay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/DRC-50mm-Wide-S ... O-&vxp=mtr
These are made by Zeta (or a brand of Zeta). They look pretty decent. They also list pegs for 89-93 KDX200R/SR and 90-99 KDX125SR, but I'm nor sure if these translate into E-series bikes or not. Here is the like to the manufacturer's page http://www.drcproducts.com/body/d48-02/index.html

Everybody puts wide foot pegs on. But, I tried them and didn't like them. I couldn't pivot my foot for braking or shifting easily, Has anyone else experienced this?

Not me! I love my wide pegs! I have the IMS Superstocks on my E series and the Pros on my H, I like them both. It makes standing on the bike so much more comfortable. I couldn't stand very long on the sock pegs.

NOT ME! I love the wide pegs.

I test rode a 1989 RM250 a couple of weeks ago. I felt like I was standing on Chapstick tubes.

I saw some of those Chinese pegs on ebay new for $18 shipped.

Put a set of those on my son's bike.....They are most certainly cheap. He bent his up in a get off...They still function and all, but are bent up pretty good.

I also have the IMS super stock pegs on my 2000 KDX220R and love them. They are are much better quality than the cheap eBay rip offs. I seen a video where a guy compared a few different pegs and you do get what you pay for. They might look the same but that's it.

I imagine that would be expensive and think of all the extra wear parts and maintenance that would go with it. 4 stroke pegs? Lol

Wide foot pegs

Post by TeamDoty »

The OP linked to pegs that didn't list the KDX200 as a compatible model. I have an H model... do most KDX220 pegs fit the 220?

All the 95-06 H series bikes are the same, except the cylinder and heads of course.

Oh, yes...and also the outer clutch cover is a different PN. The 220 came with an O-ring chain, which, I don't think the 200 did.

New wide pegs arrived. Shape and overall size of pegs are good. Have not tried to install yet. Not sure how sharp the spikes are supposed to be. These have a generally pointy shape, but nothing I would consider sharp or aggressive. The black finish doesn't go with the bike at all.

On first glance, I would think the IMS pegs look better - both in sharpness of points and overall finish/appearance

Those pegs are seriously Wide and I like the center section of spikes! You really think that the IMS pegs are sharper? They don't look as sharp from the pictures. And I do agree on the color, the glossy black is a bad color choice for all green bikes. I'm interested to hear how they hold up, I see you've bent your IMS pegs up a bit and those pegs look flimsier in the metal department.

BTW, are those the Super Stock foot pegs? I recall mine having a center section of barbs and being wider, but I did have them on an E series.

I don't know what kind of pegs are on my bike now as I only recently purchased it. I figured there were stock.

The IMS pegs I saw on line looked sharper. The points look back cut to more of a pyramid, than just a flat triangle.

Oh, OK, I was confused for a second. I wouldn't say IMS pegs are sharp, but they aren't dull either. The big thing about IMS pegs is that they are stout....You are not gonna bend them easily, that is for sure. Those DRC pegs don't seem any better, quality wise, than stock. Of course you pay a lot more for the IMS pegs.

:naughty: opinions are like buttholes, we all have them, and yours stinks  lol nah man, just depends on what color scheme you have going. I agree it doesn't go with bikes predominantly green/white/silver, but green and black bikes look good :supz:

Those aftermarket wide pegs don't seem like much of an upgrade over stock, look like they can bend just as easily. Are you still going to put them on? I'd be interested to see how you like them. Those IMS ones definitely look more stout. I also like that they don't seem to have much webbing in them, helps to prevent mud from building up in them, which is always a plus!
