leaking petcock (fuel tap)

Post by bws2 »

I noticed that a had a little bit of leaking around the bottom of the fuel tap (petcock).

I had taken it apart yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was leaking before that.

Would you guys suggest a new o-ring as the place to start?

and make sure the tangs of the thin metal cover (the petcock lever goes through it) are putting decent pressure against the petcock assembly.

you'll see what i mean when you pull it apart.

Thanks 6 Riders and ohgood for the responses. I was looking at it today and it seems to have stopped leaking.

I'll keep an eye on it, but hopefully it somehow sealed itself.
