Re: kdx220 airstriker setting help
That sounds lean to me.
It really is a trial and error process based on altitude, temperature and riding type, but if I was to start somewhere, I would start with the pilot in the same range as suggested, probably a 42, and the main in the low to mid 150s. Needle position also comes into play. I would start in the middle.

Re: kdx220 airstriker setting help
I have a very similar setup on my 220 and I ended up at 42, 152, needle 2nd from the top, air screw out around 2.5 turns.
Most of my riding is mountain single track and fire roads. Elevation 2500 to 6000 feet.

kdx220 airstriker setting help
I would keep the airbox lid on & just remove the snorkel for now....( perhaps add some extra holes )
Keep the kdx 220 needle ( mid clip position ) & slide.
42 pilot & 152 / 155 main with the air screw starting point at 1.5 turns out 1 3/4 & go from there.

Try the needle in the mid position & adjust the air screw...
First make sure your float hight is set to spec.

Re: kdx220 airstriker setting help
ok thanks for that, I tried the pilot which was in it a 32 but for it to work it was almost turned right in. I tried a 42 which seemed to be the norm no good. I think I need perhaps a 38 and go from there.

32 pilot is definitely too lean....!
38/40 is about right.....you can run a leaner than stock pilot if your main is richer or your needle in a richer setting....I run a 38 pilot in my 220 with a 152 main & clip in the mid position ( at sea level & with a 36mm carb ) my air screw is between 1 3/4 & 2 turns out..... Bike runs well .
