Impossible. But possible...
When I ride my bikes I ride them hard. Not to the extent where I hate them. But I like to go fast, slam gears and throw the clutch around. When I was coming to a stop the other day 6-5-4-3-3-3-3-2-1^N. I have been noticing lately that sometimes my bike isn't grabbing the next gear right away. (1-N-2-2-3-4-5-6) I got off the bike and realized the shift lever was in fact loose. But would semi loose shift lever be the reason for that? I'd hate to say I went through a transmission in 80 hours of total ride time. I'm going to tighten it tonight when I'm putting my new fork springs in and see if I get any new results. But it would be great it anybody has any knowledge. I run Pennzoil ATF Type F.

Happened to me before. Kept missing second gear. Got home, shifter was loose. Fixed it, no more missed second gear.
