so last weekend i took the 220 out to the dunes as my extra bike. hopped on her and took her out and she was running great. about 15 minutes later the bike bogged out and died. suspect someone filled the bike without mixing the gas ( my brother filled the bikes at the gas station). anyway i tore the cylinder head off to find out the piston rings had melted to the piston and scored the piston badly, cylinder is lightly scored. will post pictures later. bike still had compression and spark, felt like it should have fired. anyway im kind of at a stand still at this point on what to do with it.
either replate it and throw it back together?
have eric do the 225 kit to the 220 jug?
or start with finding a 200 jug and having the 225 kit done?
been reading up on the 225 kit and heard mixed reviews on it, also heard the 200 head had much better porting to begin with over the 220, can the 220 jug be ported as well as the 200? already have the rev pipe, rb carb and head mod, and had a wiseco piston in their. had it in their for the last 7 ride seasons ( i know, i know). wanting to hear from those in the know or have personal experience with the kit or rebuilding of a stock jug. thanks for your time guys.

oooops...
If the cylinder is only lightly scored you could put a piston in and be back where you were 6 seasons ago. Not bad.
You'd have to confirm with EG if it matters if he starts with a 220 or 200 cylinder to get to the 225. His work will include head modifications.

How much play in either direction is acceptable? I have a luttke side to side movement, but none detectable up and down.

no up and down movement is the main thing. Since you didn't have any oil down there lubing the big rod bearing and the two crank bearings, just try working the rod up and down to make sure she's still cycling smoothly.

usually you just use an outside hosting source
imageshack
tinypic
photobucket.....etc
transfer them to you comp and upload the picture there.
After it uploads youll get several lines of code and you just copy and paste the code in with your post but it comes out as a picture. The codes of different lines are for different things ....ones a blog another will be a direct link and then theres one for "forums" that is the code you want to copy and paste into your message and it will display the picture.
Not hard after you do it once or twice.

without brackets ^^
with
essentially (img) is a command to let you know an image is to be displayed and you can do multiple which is why it ends with a backward slash indicating you are done (/img)

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.
