BEST HEADLITE ?
I think you need to describe what you mean by "best" a little better. Best looking? Best light output? easiest to install? A price range wouldn't hurt either. There is many many options from about $30 up past $1000.

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
OK a little of all the above , I would spend $100 to $150 for a good light . Looks are important to ,the install not so much I can handle a little cuttting and fitting .

BEST HEADLITE ?
Try going to ebay and searching "kdx headlight" and you will see a few options. A few people on here have bought the $30 ones and been happy with them.

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
thanks Tom
i think this is the one it is
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-NEW-HEADL ... fb&vxp=mtr
it has a dual filament 35/35 watt bulb
i just wired my hot wire into both the leads for the light and then grounded it out so im running it as a single 70 watt bulb
i guess i should look into wiring it so one comes one with my low beam and both come on when i run my high beam

BEST HEADLITE ?
Check out my KLX H7 retrofit thread. I installed a 55W H7 into the above pictured housing. Combined with my high output stator, it's bright as hell!

BEST HEADLITE ?
Hey guys, I went with a Polisport LED unit. Unbelievable lite output & only uses about 15 watts. Actually, I had to use the LED lite cause I installed heated grips and used up 25 of the available 45 watts my KDX puts out. Either way it is a definit upgrade that I highly recommend .

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
I see this topic is around a year old....
I'm looking to light up my kdx with an LED home brew of some kind. Currently I have two 18w light bars on my drz that are plenty for the road, killer for the trails... But the output of the kdx I'd much lower.
I'm planning on the polisport (or similar) fairing with a 20/30w led place of the normal bulb. Will a couple of 5watt led tail lights be too much for the stator of I only run the 20 watt led up front?
I'm not really sure what is considered over doing it for these stators.
Thanks!

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
I just used Slick_Nick's write-up on rewindng the stator. It was much simpler than I thought. I'm still putting my bike back together so I haven't done the maiden voyage with it but if you're looking for more light, I'd say a rewind is the way to go. I'm installing this headlight from ebay. So far it lights up great. I'm going to upgrade the 35 watt bulb to something more. 55 or so.

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
Here is an option for the led taillight. I've had it for a year or so with no issues. Mounts up perfectly to the Maier mx fender. No need to drill holes, mounts up precisely to the mounting holes on the fender.

Where did you buy that from? I could use a whole bunch of stuff that they sell, but I'd need a "supplier"B737driver wrote:Here is an option for the led taillight. Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
I got one from ebay, that mounts underneath the rear fender, much cleaner look in my opinion
don't have any great pics, but you can see it here, it has a white lens and sits in between the plate and the fender (duh)

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
This is what mine looks like installed if anyone is interested. Again, what I liked about it most was that there was no retrofitting, drilling, nothing. This mounts to the holes already there in the Maier fender. Pretty cool for a purchase on a whim. I'm happy with it.

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
that looks like a winner. i'll be ordering one, in the future.
a buddy of mine has a 20w (low) / 30w (high) H4 socket LED setup on his dr435 (dr350 overbore/drz400 piston) and i went to have a look yesterday. the amount of light just during kick-over (kick only bike) was really good. it confirmed what i had been thinking: just about any reflector housing would be plenty with a high wattage LED jammed in it. now i'll start deciding which one of the knock-off headlight plates to use, and saving pennies for the $70 (yikes!) h4 led.
thanks dudes !

Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
Hi, those DRC tail lights are awesome and cheap also...non invasive low profile design...Ive used at least 5 of them on my Mx KTMS in order to make them Race Legal to race Enduros (FIM Rules) ... highly recomend these lights !B737driver wrote:Here is an option for the led taillight. Re: BEST HEADLITE ?
I'm glad to see this thread. I had a ebay special combo LED brake/plate/running/signal light that I hooked up to my e4, and it rattled loose and was destroyed beyond useful repair within the first mile of riding. On slab. :lesigh
