Kickstand
Any chance anyone has a decent shape kickstand they would part with for a reasonable price? I can't justify $100 for a new or aftermarket one. Doesn't have to be perfect as long as it's functional. I may wind up modifying it eventually anyway..

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

Re: Kickstand
That's what I was thinking. You'd think take-offs would be easy to come by.. I saw one on ebay not long ago and didn't buy it.. might have been a mistake..diymirage wrote:which is strange because a lot of people seem to remove them from their bikesICRage42 wrote:good luck they rarely go for sale.

Re: Kickstand
Good luck was what I was going to say also. I have built one for my E series, but it's down for repairs till later this year. as soon as I can throw a beat down test on the kickstand I will make a run of them. thinking around september. Sale price will be around $75 plus ship, so not much cheaper than what is available now

Re: Kickstand
I want to do it cheaper, but quality would suffer. these kickstands will also include a hook to keep them from unwanted deployment, powdercoated, stainless steel.... can someone weigh the factory piece? bracket, spring and stand? I'm halfway temped to develop one that bolts right behind the peg and swings up behind the left side marker plastic, just to keep weight off the swingarm.

Re: Kickstand
I don't currently have a picture of the stand, but it pretty much resembles OEM model. I even used an OEM spring. carbon fiber is not realistic because it wouldn't last.
I haven't had a chance to work on my bikes or even ride so it looks like it's going to be a bit longer than I had planned. I'm crew chief for a rally team and we had a small engine fire, so between fixing that and the start of the rally season, it's going to get pushed out till late november or whenever it starts raining. sorry guys, guess you'll have to find a tree to lean your bike on for a bit. Major bummer for me, as we have had come PERFECT riding weather over tha last 2-3 weeks and I got to go out ONCE, plus the $1200 pile of parts waiting for my bikes
