hello . after searching for a long time and debating which bike to get i wanted something road legal and peppy and also very good in the tight trails i looked long and hard and at last ,i picked up a 05 kdx220 with kx250 front end and y plated so im quite a happy camper right now just need the snow to melt .
If you play with 2 strokes youll piss the bed ...ive heard .

Good choice...and I'm a bit jealous that you got a plated kdx. I know I'd be able to ride more if mine was road legal. (Also, less snow would be nice)

i have a 200 that is road legal as well, you'll enjoy it for sure. although there is a few public staircases that feel different about that :p

thanks for the replies ,it has a flywheel weight but not sure about the stator ,rear light is led .this is all quite new. all the bikes ive owned so far have been from ierly 80"s lol ,im reading the service manuals right now as for pics i cant figure out how to post on this site also a noob to here . cheers

interesting looking bike
im not a big fan of the blacked out look but I do enjoy a plated KDX so its all good
does it have the LED tail under the MX fender or are you looking for a stocker unit ?

Yeah I also find the black quite different , I think that's what the guy i got it from was going for .I like it though it dosent look like any one I've ever seen before I got a good price and it has the following mods ....2005 KDX220r
Y-plated for the street.
Rebuilt from the frame up last spring: new top end, KIPS valve cleaned, ALL bearings, rollers and sliders replaced. New clutch.
-2006 KX250 complete front end with RB Designs bushing/adaptor.
- Moose 1-1/8” XC bend handlebars with Pro-Moto Billet handguards.
- V-Force 3 reeds, jetted and airbox mod.
- New (2 rides) X-ring chain and sprockets
- Steahly Flywheel weight
- Barnett Dirt Digger Clutch Kit
- Magura Hydraulic Clutch
- IMS Pro Series footpegs.
- Exhaust: New FMF Gnarly Woods pipe, new FMF quiet pipe
- Guards: Moose Skidplate, Works Connection caliper guard, Devol rad guards and rear rotor guard

Hi, if you are looking for a complete street legal kit look for the tusk KDX lighting kit. A little expensive but eventing you need is included as a kit.
