KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
OK so can you fit 43mm KX (125/250)forks into KLX 300 Triples? or for that matter say 98 model RM forks into KLX Triples or is it a NO-NO to put conventional's into USD triples?

Just measure the outer diameter of the outer fork tubes and compare to a KLX300.

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
I think for USA models, KLX300 clamps do hold 1991-1995 KX125, 1991-1995 KX250 and 1991-1996 KX500 forks.
I don't have the clamps handy, but I think the clamps are not the same size (top compared to bottom), so the conventional forks won't work.
Thanks,
Big Meanie

Seems like there has been a run on thin skinned members lately.

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
I am not being thin skinned, I have a legitimate question that I would like answered as the cost of Freight/postage for large items from the USA is prohibitive ( $100 to $170 for Forks plus there purchase price), so I would like to get it right the first time.

So you have RM forks or forks and clamps?
DAMN! $100 to ship some forks.
Have you considered buying KX forks and clamps from one seller and having them shipped together?
Have you read about wheel fitting and brake fitting?

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
My Son has a 98 rm 125 and I love his forks, The KLX 300 Triples just bolt right up but I think the KX forks are more tuneable than klx forks. If they can make the stockers more plush with a revalve I would probably be happy with that.

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
I am not light or small, I am 6'2 and about 230lbs, when I ride single track the forks seem OK, when I ride a MX track with my son the 3 foot drop offs are harsh and I get arm pump real quick, there is a 30 foot table top I clear by a lot and my son says that I barely use 2/3 of the fork action on, his bikes uses 7/8 or more on the same jump.

KDX'S don't tend to fly well... I think you are in need of different forks if you plan on much time at the track.

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
I agree, Hence the Questions, being in Australia makes it harder though, the Bike recyclers here want $400-500 for forks and $200-300 for Triples, so I have to look overseas for them. I will just have to be patient, the right setup will come along

Re: KX forks into KLX 300 Triples?
You need to choose forks set up for MX or for woods. They won't do both well.
Put a zip-tie on a tube to check travel. If you are only using 2/3, then the forks are broken, adjusted incorrectly or something else seriously wrong.
