I have heard some good things about the Lectron but I'm waiting for the APT Smartcarb for my KDX250. Supposed to be sorta like an updated Lectron. Here are some threads talking about the Smartcarb and there are comparisons to the Lectron.

$750 is for the billet version. The cast version is $375. I think the cast version looks like a piece of art!

Yeah, pre-order for now. They are working on their OEM deal with Gas Gas at the moment and need to fulfill that before us lowly one time buyers get them!
If I was buying for a 200 or 220 I would get the 36mm version. For my 250 I'll be getting the 38mm. For me this carb just makes sense. I hate jetting to begin with and, to make matters worse, I ride in AZ. Elevation can go from about 1000ft to over 6000ft and temp swings as much as 50 degrees from the start of your ride. Both those together make for lots of jetting and mid-ride tweaks to keep your bike running good. The Smartcarb supposedly takes care of all of this. I like that. Compared to a new RB modified carb (non-AS $325/AS $345) I don't think their price is out of line if it does what they claim.

Re: Lectron carbs
I'm with ss109. I ride anywhere from 500 to 3000 feet so no jetting would be cool. Im curious how well it works compared to a rb carb. I think I forsee some possible throttle cable issues on the kdxs against the tank. I like the idea of just putting it on the bike and basically forgetting about it forever!

Re: Lectron carbs
Modern lectrons are supposed to be badass. APT also has a 36mm cast version in the works as well. One of the major problems with APT is that early on they had issues with the carbs filling up the crank case if you dropped the bike. They have since fixed them.

Re: Lectron carbs
The size of the APT would be a problem. The end that goes into the reed boot (I think they refer to that as the spigot) is too large. I don't have the specs with me but I think it is 4mm larger than the KDX. I think they call the air filter end the bell and that is larger than the KDX as well, but the air boot may be able to stretch enough on that end.
I don't know if they can turn down the the spigot end to make it work. Seems like there wouldn't be enough room to make a reducer fit.
I also liked that Lectron had their 34mm and 36mm carbs on a KDX on the dyno.

The powerjet on the lectron is also a bonus.
