bike cut out
hi guys
need advice pleasse
took my kdx 200 out earlier,it started,i got 3metres and it cut out, kicked and kicked and kicked and it wouldnt start!
overflow pissing fuel out continuously, eventually it started and this time i got 10 metres away and then died again!
my mate then push me on the bike and it started but died off again instantly, with the fuel tap on it just pisses out the overflow all the time!
there is spark, and when it does start i rev it but bike doesnt rev jus starts cutting out
any ideas or advice please
thanks in advance

Re: bike cut out
Sounds like your float is stuck open. Clean your carb and check float needle and float height. Sounds like its flooding out.

Re: bike cut out
I'll check my manual for float height. The needle has a rubber tip on it make shure it is smooth and no chuncks missing out of it.

Re: bike cut out
Might try tapping on the bowl with a screwdriver handle or something similar. If it's just stuck, that can free it up. Cleaning the carb really well is always a good idea though.

ok so i found the fault, stripped the carb down, everything seemed fine, put it back together an fitted, still wouldnt start. eventually checked spark again, strange one, first kick it sparked, every kick after that it was dead, changed plug out an started first kick

Re: bike cut out
The reason the plug was no good is because your carb flooded the engine. If your bike is still dumping fuel out the overflow it will continue to foul plugs.
