Tell me where to go?

Post by canyncarvr »

Folkses:

Somebody had some good pics of a bent pin on an abused governator rod. I thought it was scheckaet..but, no.

Anyone with a pointer as to where, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

That IS a mangled pin, for sure.

..not the one I'm thinking of, though. The pics I have in mind showed a slightly off-parallel pin, one that with a quick look you wouldn't consider to be a problem.

Thanks for that one, though!

Thanks for that one, too.

Still...not the one I'm thinking of.

There is (was?) a pic of that pin and its parallel relationship to the governor shaft. The pin was bent..NOT parallel/'square' with/to the shaft. It wasn't easy to see, looking at it. But replacing it fixed the problem (didn't 'run right').

So...I CAN see 'em, but you said to let you know if I could NOT see 'em..so I won't say anything about it.

That may well be what I've been thinking of...seems the tweak to the one I was considering was very slight. Which, is what I'm after..an example of a bent one that you need to look close at to see.

Hhhmmm...a couple of scheckaet's pics (with the tweaked pin) look to be bent in different directions. How'd that happen?

Again...thanks for the research, the looking and all. Much appreciated.

Every time i do a top end I order a brand new pin just to be safe.
I've done the mistake once to not support the shaft properly (really thought that I did) and it cost me way more than the 10-15 bux a pin with shipping cost.
The somewhat "bent" pin in the pics might be alright but I'm not taking the chance.
