Nothing even remotely bad happened to my 93 KDX200. I bought it used, it still pulls wheelies in third but...I want it gone over this winter.
WHY you say?
1. I bought it used.
2. I love my KDX.
3. I have more money than time, to an extent.
4. Because.
I busted out the back of the left case, behind the kickstarter shaft. Guess how...time's up. I was trying to get the *(&$%&*(# swingarm shaft out. Double tap when the swingarm shaft busted loose took my MAC 3lb hammer over the the kickstarter shaft. FAWK!. The magic part is I had a buddy of mine TIG it up. He REALLY wasn't happy about the oil in the metal, but we made it happen. Well, HE welded it up, and I RTV the hell out of it. It works fine, enough said.
Who can go over the whole engine? I have a case set and all seals and gaskets. Looking for someone that knows KDX engines. Is keeping this under $1k realistic?

Fredette? He may do it. There's a guy on ktmtalk in Texas named Andrew Cooksey who has a fantastic reputation. Does crank and engine rebuilding in house, is affordable, and does fine work. I'm sure he would do the job. 1k should be no problem. Here's andrew's site. http://www.cookseycrank.com/

I know you said "enough said" but I thought you may not be aware that you can get a new clutch cover on Ebay. I just bought one recently in perfect condition for $38 including shipping. You could just give it to the shop that does your work and get your motor back untainted.I busted out the back of the left case, behind the kickstarter shaft. Guess how...time's up. I hit the kick starter SHAFT. Directly behind the shaft is a engine case. I wish it was just a cover.

I'm guessing this is what you need. Verify that this is the same as yours and keep searching Ebay. I ended up getting mine for $38.
