1174 vs 1173 needle
i think the last number is the position of the circlip on the needle?.. the letter after this e.g 1173L or 1173K indicates the diamater of the needle itself which tells you if its leaner or richer...i`m sure someone on here has a link to explain it a little better..hope this helps.

Kawi complicates things with their OEM needle numbering. Check this sticky in our jetting section and I think it will start to make sense...

I am thankful for your help. Since a lower jet number is leaner I figured the needle was the same, but of course it ends up being the opposite of what seems to make sense.

Nothing ever stays stock. 5 dirt bikes, 2 Chinese Buggies - Hammer Head 150, bored to 170cc, cam, P&P head. Joyner Sand Viper 250 - engine maxed out. 1969 VW Baja Bug - bus transaxle, 2010cc engine. At least my wife always knows where I am at - The Garage.
