About the Boyesen power reeds

Post by f.gonzalez »

Hey, I am considering to buy this item for my KDX:

http://goo.gl/J2u5g (it´s an ebay page)

But I wonder if I would need something else to fit them in my bike or are they just kind of "plug & play" ??

and, would this help somehow?

Thanks

I've got those on my bike. Very popular with other riders as well.

Just remove your old reeds and install those. Also make sure to use loctite on the screws - don't want one of those backing out and getting sucked into your motor.

Yeah, I have the Power Reeds on my KDX as well and they did make a noticeable difference. I was told they are the best reed setup for the price, next would be the Moto Tassinari or RAD valve but those are well over $100

No, they are not the same. I prefer the dual stage power reeds to the pro series carbon fiber reeds.

Yes, the reeds are an improvement over stock. I've heard some mixed input on the boyesen rad valve, but the Vforce III cage is supposed to work really well on the KDX. Not a HUGE improvment over the power reeds for the price though.

In my opinion, it really helped just off idle through the mid.
