KXF250 front brake discs........

Post by GreatBritishRob »

actually do fit the KDX220R. Very handy to. Now got a nice wavy front disc brake on my KDX. No doubt everyone already knew that but theres not a lot of call for the KDX in Britain so its mostly trial and error. :supz:

Not everyone knows that, I surely didn't.

Thanks for sharing.

Only thing you have to do is either drill out the mounting holes a little bit to use the original bolts as they have a collar on or simply use normal 8mm bolts. Thats ok as the disc only comes under load one way anyway. Apart from that the diameter, internal and exterior is the same, mounting holes etc all in the same place. Fitted mine last night and the wavy disc looks a treat and its solid which personally i prefer.

I drilled out the bolt holes on a 2000 KX front rotor and it fit like it was meant to be there.

Sorry about the slow reply gents. Apparently its the 2004/5 model KXF250. If you do order one order the mounting bolts at the same time as it saves drilling the holes any larger. Peachy

Mabe name the sticky something like "What parts will fit a KDX?" or something like that. I know there is a few other parts that can be interchanged and or modified to fit a KDX. I found a lot of the KX trinkets to fit the KDX as well and I'm sure there is more.

This thread should be added to the "Best of the best mods" thread and left at that. We are starting to get way too many stickied threads already and is cluttering up the forum. Things need to be organized and condensed.

BTW, Slick Nick's thread on stator rewinding should be added to the "Best of the best mods" thread as well. It is by far the best thread on the topic ever on this forum.

Thanks for the advice, and the constructive criticism too. We do need to clean up the stickies, but it'll take some time. Putting it up here for now will keep me reminded to condense that stuff.

Any stickies "post-February 3, 2011" that were posted by me regarding the website and Vince's death, i.e. buying things from the website; anything that has already been cleaned up and updated regarding that time can be removed. If you question it, ask. I will start working on it when I can.
