Kdx 125sr
I have a 92 kdx 125sr any one anything about these bikes it seems to be burning oil ( blue smoke and horrible burning smell) . I have had the bike a long time and intend on keeping it so I'm weighing up my options of rebuilding it (with a bit of help from here) or does anyone know if a kx250 engine fits in. Any advice......

Re: Kdx 125sr
Welcome to kdxrider.
Kawasaki never sold the KDX125 in the USA. Since many members are in the USA, there are not a lot of people here familiar with non-USA models.
I strongly doubt a 250 engine will fit in that frame as the engine is a good bit larger. It would surely not just bolt right in.
If it is blowing blue smoke, then I would check the transmission oil level. If it keeps going down, then it may be getting sucked past a bad seal on the right side of the crankshaft bearing. A pressure test or vacuum test may confirm the soundness of the engine.
Good luck.

Re: Kdx 125sr
Look on the parts diagram.
Look for your certain model, but here is one from 1992 KDX125-A3.

Kdx 125sr
I doubt if the KX 250 motor would fit ...not without loads of alterations to the frame & exhaust mounts , electrics etc etc.....a kdx 200 or kmx 200 might be a better alternative....or just get the original kdx125 motor "ported" , fit a larger carb & "big one" exhaust ... Bike should be good for 28/30 bhp

Re: Kdx 125sr
Apparently the 200 will fit with a engine mount and swing arm mod
