SR frame layout
Is there an easy way to see how the SR models were configured, especially how the oil tank was mounted and piped?
My H model frame has an unused bracket on the left (shift lever) side that I assume was for mounting an oil tank on the SR models.
I tried using the links listed above, but seem to be having a problem with navigation.
Thanks

Re: SR frame layout
when you say H model, what year bike are you talking about? I have a '01 200J (which as far as I can tell is the aussie H) that had a curious tag on the left side of the subframe, referenced in this post. determined that it was for mounting the plastic shroud that the numberplate and indicators were mounted to from the factory.

Look for KDX220SR. There was no "SR" 200 that looked like an "H". Last ones were "E" style and then the KDX250SR also.

Jason I believe Kawasaki did make a H model 200SR ....the motor was a full blown version & came with plastic fuel tank & 35mm carb ....it also ran on pre mix & was not oil injection .
I never knew Kawasaki made this model until a previous member from OZ posted his pics .... I think this model H series was called kdx200 J .

Re: SR frame layout
ASB EST I CAN TELL...
I don't think a "J" is an SR. 1997 KDX200-J1 was the start. No rear tag holder or mirrors. KDX220-B does. (1994 - 1999)
Last KDX250 (world, not USA) was 1995 KDX250-D5. Looks like last KDX250 "SR" was 1994 KDX250-F4. There was also an "E" KDX250.
A and B for KDX125
A, B, C, D, E, F and G for KDX200
A and B for KDX220R
D, E and F for KDX250

What about "darkfibers" H series kdx 200 on Christmas Island ?
His has the pillion pegs & larger flywheel but also the kick stand is mounted to the frame & not swingarm & it also appears to have the 35mm carb but no oil tank or pump ?

So do you think Kawasaki make the J model before or after the SR version or Perhaps it's made up of leftovers from the parts bin when Kawasaki discontinued the kdx ?
Until I saw the pics of darkfibers kdx I never knew this model of kdx even existed .

Re: SR frame layout
I can only guess that certain markets call for certain styles of bikes.
SR versions were around before a "J".

Re: SR frame layout
Whatever non-USA model that used the same perimeter frame as the 1995 & later KDX H series 200 and 220 bikes. I am assuming this would be an SR model, but I don't know that much about the non-USA models.bertos883 wrote:when you say H model, what year bike are you talking about? My frame has 2 unused fittings. On the brake side there is a C shaped piece that would be for attaching a mechanical stop light switch. On the shift lever side in the same area is a rectangular tab with a hole drilled through. I would like to see what would have been attached to it, and how.
Also, there appears to be a problem with the URL you posted. I can't get anything to come up.

SR frame layout
Can anyone else provide a link or contact info to show what was attached to the frame tab I described in my first post?
I seem to remember a drawing showing how the SR oil tank was mounted to the frame, but can't find it now.
I can't get anything to come up from the youtube link posted earlier.
Thanks.
