power pipe

Post by capnbluetootharr »

I want to install a fmf pipe on my 89 200 sr .does the pipe need modification. To suit the sr cylinder .the sr has a bolt on connection and all the aftermarket pipes seem to be retained with springs like the E models

Ive seen some use the bolt holes on the jug for the SR mount, make some stiff wire loops, and secure the loops to the jug with the original bolts. Then you can buy and use the springs for the non-SR model. Or you could get fancy and weld half a washer or something to the bolt heads. Anything you can come up with to hold the springs will suffice. Otherwise you're looking at cutting off the inlet portion of your SR pipe and welding it to your new pipe. There are probably other ways, hopefully an SR guy can chime in to help you out.
