Has anybody had any success making their own fork tool for KDX200 E series conventional forks? The tool that FRP offers has two sizes on each end. Across the flats they are 27mm and 30mm on the other, standard hex bolts that fit the 12 point/notched ARP socket on top of the damper.
Again it is a damper rod holder for 89-92 E series conventional forks..
Thanks

Re: 89-92 KDX200 damper rod holder
I just shoved various tools and angle iron / square tubing / aluminum stock into it til i found something that caught and held but in all seriousness theres a thread on here about a DIY tool for these forks, might be for an h-series but it might be the same for an E bike, haven't looked into it

Re: 89-92 KDX200 damper rod holder
When I tried to order the FRP one last year, they told me they were sold out and would not have any for six months. So, being in a pinch, I took a piece of oak cut 1 1/8" X 1 1/8" X 24". I tapped it into the damper rod and held it with a pair of vice grips as I hit the base valve with an elecric impact gun. It worked great.

I didn't use an actual tool. I put pvc pipe down into the fork leg, and used a ratchet strap to pull it down into the fork leg super tight. Then was able to air ratchet the bottom valve out.
