Linking gallery pics

Mr. Inda:

The properties of a gallery pic are incomplete (I think). In any case, the link doesn't work.

Here:

http://kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=33508#33508

**edit**
Seems to be just that pic. At least the others I looked at had properly formatted addresses. **

I left the link in as text so you can see what's up.

I hope I'm not missing something stupid. I've only linked about a brazillion pics via links to the gallery.

Your assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks like the link address is wrong. Shouldn't it be: http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... .sized.jpg

Yes, it is wrong. But the address posted comes from the properties tab (copied and pasted) of the pic. Both the sized and the 'big' pics are like that...on just that picture (as stated in the thread).

I know the link address is wrong..but it's not wrong because I typed it IN wrong.

My question has as much to do with 'Why does THIS not work?' as it does, 'What is the problem with the name of the thing..or WHAT that made it happen in the first place.

So...I'm still looking for a 'why'.

Besides, it doesn't work as m0rie posted it, either.**EXTRA SPACE**

It's THAT pic..it's like you ask for properties from the gallery front page, NOT by displaying the particular picture.

So...I'm still asking why.

Guess i'm not understanding then. What else would you want it to do? You put a link to the picture in the [img] tag. If the link is valid it should display.

K... CC.

You did not copy the ENTIRE URL. When you go to the properties... Start selecting and go down with the cursor... you will see what I mean.

The problem is procedure... so i am closing this help desk ticket.

Instead of selecting as Inda suggested, I usually double click the URL and it's all highlighted no matter how long or how many lines it might scroll off to.

Vince got it.

Thank you.

Re: 'What else...'

The question had more to do with the properties of that particular pic than whether or not it displayed in the thread. The 'what else' part Vince figured out for me:

I did move the cursor OVER and no further highlight existed:

http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... _State-of-

I did NOT move the cursor DOWN as required/indicated by the HYPHEN:

http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... .sized.jpg

I had no question about it being a problem with procedure. I just wanted to know what my problem was. Yeah...'IS'..whatever.

Thanks Vince!

Re: double click...

One of 20 times that worked for me. Mostly the only highlight I get doing that is within delimiters (hyphens, spaces, whatever). Glad it works for you, though!

I still cann't post pics from the gallery, I click on the address bar copy and paste. Is that wrong?

Yep!

You may post your pics in the threads by right clicking on your gallery pic that you want to post and go to the properties... It should give you the URL for that pic... just make sure you get the entire URL... it will be like http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... 1/wed1.jpg

Once that is copied... go to the Forum thread you want to post in and put [img] before http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... 1/wed1.jpg and [/img] after the link and the pic will show up.

Example:
[img]http://kdxrider.net/forums/modules/albu ... 1/wed1.jpg[/img]

Note: BBCode is turned off in this post to give an example.
