Parts bike

Post by Kevbot »

Someone a couple hours from me is selling a blown up 220r, said he ran it lean and blew. Its completely disassembled, wondering what everyone here thinks a parts bike is worth?

$100
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Well, if he is selling it because he ran it lean he likely doesn't know that its easily repairable, and that he's sitting on a gold mine of parts he could sell. I'd get it for the lowest you could. wouldn't go over 400 or 500 depending on the condition of the parts and how complete it is.

Just lowered the price to $500 so I was going to offer $300 before making the trip. its in pieces/boxes of parts so it would need some work to get back to operational but I would mind having a second set of wheels and engine.

I just bought a parts bike that was mostly there (H Series) in various states of disassembly, along with an E series jug and head for $450. I needed a complete rear wheel assembly which is typically $200+ on fleabay. I wound up with an extra seat, gas tank, front wheel, fork and shock as well as a bottom end that feels solid, no up and down play on the rod. Did not have a clutch or exhaust but for what I needed it was worth it to me.

Around here, $400 or $500. Post pandemic pricing is here to stay for parts bikes.

It used to be 2-300 around here
