Thanks for re-posting. Yeah, we lost several days worth of new posts twice over this past summer due to server crash or corruption issues.

To run a smart carb sc236 on our bikes, they need turned down in a lathe and also need similar frame mods. I was contemplating running one and heating up the frame crossmember with an oxy torch and dimpling it further as well as right where the throttle cable goes. It's a shame Kawasaki engineers didn't raise the crossmember up ever so slightly. Most bikes don't have the carburetor upgrade clearance issues that the H-series KDX have. Luckily though, a well-jetted PWK35 Air Striker is a pretty excellent carburetor, but Lectron and SmartCarb offer better..

i'm yet to perfect the tuning of either the lectron or the pwk but my bike has never idled better as it does with the lectron and 70 percent of my riding is spent near idle speeds, also i have large swings in altitude and temperature and humidity so the lectron seems to tick all the boxes

i'm just making up another custom top cap and 90 degree elbow for extra frame clearance on my other kdx, will post a photo when done as i see many people running straight cables which doesn't look functional at all

won't win any beauty competitions but here is my home made top cap, just made with grinder and file and 5mm steel, drilled for a 90 degree elbow which also takes the OEM brass adjuster nut, the 90 degree elbow is a factory item from a scooter i think and is teflon lined
the lectron top cap needs to be filed down so much that it made more sense to just make a new one and the lectron top cap has a weird brass insert that doesn't seem to fit anything metric
