New Radiator recommendations?
Is there consensus on what rads to use or best bang for the buck?
Just paid $80 to get my broke tabs and worn holes beefed up. (I am not set up to weld alumn). I see there are some new replacement sets about the same price, but also some for much more.
Would be interesting to see if it goes faster if I had rectangular instead of s-shaped cores.

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
In the past, it was easy to just hop on eBay and buy a used OEM radiator. Are we past that point now?

I’ve heard really good things about these guys. Send in your jacked up units and they square them up and can really beef them up so they are better than new…

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
I used a set of the GPI chinesium radiators off of eBay. They fit just OK. I had to "persuade" a few of the mounting tabs, but once I got that out of the way they work great. Oh, and don't forget to rinse them out prior to installation. Stock rad guards fit, they're a higher capacity, and my high pressure KX500 cap fit beautifully.

I used GPI radiators for a yellow bike. They were nicely built but the mounting holes did not quite line up. I used a file and JB weld to move the holes.

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
All the aftermarket radiators are made in Chinese factories. Some do fit better than others, and most offer slightly more coolant capacity, but none of them are near as good as a factory one in durability or quality.
I have run a pair. Can't remember which "brand" (most are made in the same factory) I used as it was over 10 years ago. They were ok. I had to modify the brackets slightly to fit but they seemed to work fine. However, I got a small puncture in one and tried to repair by brazing it. I quickly realized they were made out of a really cheap aluminum alloy and the brazing just melted through it. It couldn't be repaired. So, if you purchase some just know that they are pretty much disposable if you damage them. Would I buy a set again if I absolutely needed them, yup!
That said, I will take an OEM radiator any day over the cheap radiators coming out of China. I will try Mylers to fix my mangled OEM unit before buying a set. BTW, Mylers also offers a service to beef up the strength of your OEM radiator if you're prone to smashing and twisting them.

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
Thank you. I do not think mine are stock since the straight one doesn’t hit all three mounts. But they appear pretty tough. I will check into both rebuild and watch eBay. Hoping I bought myself some time.

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
GOAT, I don't think that is a stock radiator. Here's one from eBay. Look around at pics.

Re: New Radiator recommendations?
That looks like one of the Chinese Ebay radiators. They are made out of very soft aluminum so they bend pretty easy.
