I lengthened mine. With the 47mm Showa forks and RM125 shock my bike is taller than stock so my bike would fall over regularly while on the stand. I cut the OEM foot off, slid on a piece of 4130 chromoly tubing of the appropriate size, made a new foot out of 1/8" plate, figured out how long I wanted it to be, and welded it up!

You aren't the only one! I think a few of us use the block of wood trick for the garage. I've thought about modifying mine similarly or I know there are a few threads on here where people use the trail tech stand which you could mount directly behind the foot peg.

I'm going to end up swapping forks mainly because the stock legs stick down and for looks so I'll lengthen my kickstand after that I suppose
