Look at where this KIPS pin landed!
But my question is, when looking at the KIPS system in jug, there are reservoir chambers for the exhaust at low RPM's. Do these chambers need to open simultaneously? When we first looked at the KIPS system, one reservoir chamber would open and one would close. Should I expect these to open at the same time, or is it correct that they one opened and one closed when i turned the KIPS slug?
Thanks to all the admins and community for running this page, it makes things really easy for a new KDX owner like myself. Keep up the good work.

KIPS valves should open at the same time. Somebody installed them incorrectly.

Sounds like the KIPS was assembled incorrectly, both subvalves should open and close together. Service manual should be your first purchase. The KIPS actuator is left hand threaded if you haven't tried to disassemble it yet.

ebulic19, I am not sure if it is the angle of the photo but it looks like not all the broken pin is there, if you could post a photo of the pin or measure the length, should be just over 3/4" long. If broken you might have to go fishing for the rest of it, flush out the tranny until it appears..

I measured it and it is 3/4" long and it we did a flush of the tranny to make sure we didn't miss anything.
